Fast Assist Client Security Scheduled Scans and Performance Impact Info
Our client security agent carries out four different types of traditional AV scans, in addition to real-time protection, auto-containment, Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS), etc.

The schedule for those scans are as follows:

  1. Full Antivirus Scan - Occurs on the 1st of each month at 1:00 AM or the next time device is online.
  2. Quick Scan - Occurs weekly at 10:00PM on Saturdays or the next time device is online.
  3. Unrecognized File Scan - Occurs weekly at 9:30PM on Sundays or the next time device is online.
  4. Quarantined Files Scan - Occurs Everyday at 2:00AM or the next time device is online.
All of these scans will run when computer is idle and not on battery.

Real-time protection such as auto-containment of unknown processes may cause an impact upon initial boot up of your device.  Testing involving an Intel i7 7th Gen processor indicates that the Client Security may consume 25 to 30% CPU for up to 15 to 20 minutes upon initial power up of your endpoint device with this configuration and then it will drop down to 5% or less CPU consumption.
